I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

If you’re unable to locate a main valve to turn off, then you could try turning on all the cold water taps inside and outside the residence to depressurise the pipework and minimise the leak.

While you are waiting, clear away any important items close to the leak, and clean up any water or place a bucket to catch the drips. If you have turned the mains water off, switch off the heating for the hot water as well.
